 First at all, thanks so much to create this great website about our beautiful village.
Maybe you remember me. We meet us in the summer in 2002. My name is Yulieth Chahine Awad. I'm daughter of Nazir Chahine and my mother is Habouba Awad.   I was born in Colombia (South America) but I feel more lebanese and obviously ANDAKTIYI, because I take the village of my wonderful parents in my heart and I'll always feel proud of my blood.

Je viens de voir le site de Andaket et j’en suis fiere. Vraiment ce petit village a fait beaucoup de grands. Tu ne peux imaginer combien c’a m’a fait plaisir d’avoir un si beau site, et je le ferai parvenir a toutes mes connaissances. Andaket est chere pour moi, j’ai passe les plus beaux jours de ma vie et j’ai les plus beaux souvenirs dans ce village ou le bon Dieu habite, comme on le disait.

I tell you it was an honour to take a photo from your site showing Saint Vincent Assossiation in Andaket.
What i did was print this photo out and show it to the sister of Charities in Saint Vincent Hostpital, where i work. They were very pleased to know that the mission of Saint Vincent has been in Andaket for a long time since 1925 it seems like.
I would like to see more pictures of the 20 century Saint Vincent Missionaries in Andeket. It is very nice to show the other world that we are helping the Humanity in Andeket Lebanon.
I Thank you for the Andeket Site, and have more new Viarity and pictures on the site especially from my Family Raad if you could do that I would be Appriciated beacuse i saw my Sister Silvana in the Easter Mass photos.

Andaket is my origin village,and I feel proud in Australia to open Andaket's
site to view and share scenes I thought maybe it will be a long time to get the opportunity to breath the holly scents of Andaket's breeze especially at Oudine's valley.You gave us the immigrants a priceless gift,and nobody knows what I'm talking about except the one who migrated.I have left Lebanon before 2006 war in 2 months,and my spirit is in agitation and great concern about Lebanon's future,cause in God's will I want to come back.I hope you continue your efforts with such motivation and enthusiasm cause you will stir our memories and maybe lots of our people in different migration sites will return home.I congratulate the person who gave the idea to construct a
wilderness walk in the forest of Oudine.Some friends of mine visited Andaket in the summer of 2005 and they asked me if there is any hotel to spend a weekend,if we as Andaket's people stick together and work for Andaket's Resort project we can attract many Lebanese to our area.There is one condition which is to KEEP OUR INVIRONMENT CLEAN OF PEOPLE'S MESS, cause our nature is all we got and Lebanese are "fawdaweeeh".I hope the our people be aware of such issue and never undermine the gift God gave us.May God bless you and Mar Chalita protect you and my beloved Andaket.

  My name is Chas Salmen. My great-grandmother, Mary Fakher, was born and raised in Andaket. I live in the United States but I am currently studying abroad at the American University in Cairo. I decided to plan a trip to Lebanon this fall. After researching some old family letters, I came across the name of my great-grandmothers village, Andaket, and the names of some distant relatives.
I went online and found Tani's amazing web site. I want to thank Tani for
creating an the opportunity for me to get in touch with my family back in
Lebanon. I contacted him via email and we realized that his grandmother and my great-grandmother were in fact 1st cousins. Tani rearranged his schedule to meet us in Lebanon for the week of our visit and drive with us from Beirut up to the village. I spent an amazing 3 days with relatives and new friends in the village. The people in Andaket are some of the most generous people I've ever met. I feel truly blessed to have met them and shared their homes and lives for a few days. Thanks Gescar, Edgar, Bernar, Alicia, Christine, two Josephs, Nazha, Butrous, Marie, so many others, and especially Tani for taking
care us. We looked at hundreds of family pictures, went hunting along the Syrian border, hiked all around Andaket, and ate so much kibbe! My family in the states was very excited about this trip.

I hope that we have reestablished our family connections and that more Salmens will come visit Andaket and hopefully more Issa/Hanna/Fakhers can come visit us in the states. I can't say thank you enough, but I'll try. This whole trip would not have been possible without Tani's help and this web site.
